Mentoring enriches both the mentee and the mentor

The #HolkyzMarketingu mentoring programme connects young talents with women who have already gained experience in marketing. As mentor and member of the community, I enjoy guiding and developing talented women who are eager to learn and listen. 

How great the contrast to the way things usually run at home with our own pubescent offspring (slamming doors and deep silence are among the most frequent ways of communication). Therefore let me thank additionally my current & previous mentees for their contribution to my mental equanimity 😊 

What satisfaction when I see the transformation a mentee undergoes in just a few months!

When starting mentoring, it is crucial to create a safe environment in which the mentee can voice her concerns and doubts, explore new ways and options, ask questions of herself and verify possible solutions with the mentor.

Katherine, one of my mentees, decided to change her jobs and during our meetings she wanted to clarify what her new job would entail. Together we named:

👉 her strengths (she has many more than she is willing to admit)

👉 her reasons for the change and what she wants to be different in her new job

👉 what she wants to develop and what she wants to learn

👉 what her values are

👉 the sequential steps to getting her dream job

Our four-month collaboration is coming to an end. Kate has had several interviews and her idea of her future job is becoming more and more concrete. She wants to choose a job that will fulfill her and last as long as possible in her new position.

The #HzM mentoring program runs for 4 months and includes 5 live meetings plus ongoing quick remote consultations. The main focus is on marketing and communication and as mentor, I have been involved since February 2023.
