“The author writes in a kind and encouraging tone. The book gently reminds us that motherhood and age do not mean the end of our dreams.” These words appeared in a review of my ebook on the women’s portal eMaminy.cz. And they captured exactly what I hoped to achieve — to encourage women with a gentle voice.
Women who are constantly juggling their many responsibilities. Women who care for others every day. And to remind them that it is important to make time for themselves as well. At least from time to time. And to believe that their dreams can still come true – even after 40.

What the review says:
“One of the important moments the book talks about is the period when children move from primary to secondary school. For many mothers, this becomes a turning point. Until then, the fast pace is understandable – children need our attention, energy, and time.
However, with the transition to secondary school, something begins to shift. Suddenly, our children don’t need us as much. And we can – sometimes for the first time in years – start noticing ourselves again.
This is where an important question arises: What do I want now? The book shows that it’s completely okay to ask this question and begin looking for the answer.”
How to Slow Down in Life
In my ebook Slowing Down. And Knowing Why. — A Guide for Women Over Forty Who Want to Slow Down and Enjoy Life Again, I share nine techniques that can help you slow the pace of your life and enjoy it more fully — while you still have the strength and energy to fulfil your dreams. Later in life, the energy may not always be there. Or we simply move from caring for our children straight into caring for our grandchildren.
The techniques are divided into three chapters, depending on whether you can start using them right away or whether they require a little preparation. The ebook also includes practical tips on how to turn ideas on paper into real changes in everyday life.
And this is not just theory. I have tested everything myself — and it works. (The ebook is currently available in Czech only.)
Thanks to these techniques, I was able to fulfil a dream of mine: travelling to Latin America. I write about it in the introduction to the ebook and also in the blog article “A Dream Fulfilled — After 30 Years.”
